A delegation of the Manipuri Cultural Youth Organisation (MYCO) from Sylhet, Bangladesh, called on Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabarta Singh on Wednesday.
The delegation discussed various issues concerning the socio-economic situation of the Manipuri community in Bangladesh, along with matters related to cultural preservation and support for the Manipuri diaspora.
Welcoming the delegation, Speaker Th. Satyabarta Singh expressed his commitment to strengthening social and cultural ties between the Manipuri community in Bangladesh and the people of Manipur.
The Speaker also highlighted the importance of preserving cultural connections and keeping the rich Meitei traditions alive among the Manipuri community in Bangladesh.
During the interaction, the delegation invited the Speaker to visit Bangladesh. He accepted the invitation and assured them that he would visit at the earliest opportunity.
