- The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, has received approval from the National Medical Commission to increase its annual MBBS intake from 125 to 150 seats from the 2026–27 academic year. The National Dental Commission has also approved the commencement of MDS courses in six dental specialties, marking a major boost to medical and dental education in the region.
